Calendar blocks labelled with a specific activity (in pink) indicate that the gym is hosting a special event and that access to the training area will be limited - call us for more details. Les plages horaires vertes marquées "busy/occupé" indiquent que La Bat Cave est ouverte et disponible pour l'entraînement avec une Bat Carte. Les plages horaires avec des évènements spéciaux seront inscrites avec le nom de l'évènement. Dans ces plages horaires, la salle d'entraînement sera inaccessible ou aura un accès limité. A strength challenge from the insect world

In a great article appearing in Saturday's BBC news we get the next strenth challenge from the insect world.

An amazing image of an ant lifting 100 times its body weight has won first prize in a science photography contest.

The image shows an Asian weaver ant hanging upside down on a glass-like surface and holding a 500mg (0.02oz) weight in its jaws.

It was taken by zoology specialist Dr Thomas Endlein of Cambridge University as he researched insects' sticky feet.

Vancouver Winter Olympics

Be sure to tune in to your favourite Winter Olympic broadcaster on February 26th to cheer on Caroline Calvé in the Snowboard Parallel Grand Slalom (PGS) at Cypress Mountain BC. For those of you who were around the Bat Cave this summer - Caroline spent many hours in and around the gym preparing herself for this Olympic season and her preparation has borne fruit. Make sure to tune and and cheer her as she represents Canada and goes for the Gold!
For those of you with British affiliations - check out Caroline's boyfriend Adam McCleish. Adam also came by the Bat Cave for a few workouts this season and he will be racing in the Men's PGS race on February 27th.

Une des clientes de La Bat Cave offre son vélo de route à vendre. C'est un modèle 2007 Norco CRR 3 tout en carbone. Le cadre est de grandeur moyenne, en blanc, noir et bleu. Le vélo à toujours été bien entretenu et le prix de vente inclus de nouveaux pneux d'une valeur de $160. Le prix demandé est de $1000 (valeur suggérée au détail de $2599).
